The new game engine technology behind Ghosts is quite impressive, as is the decision to go with a new story and new characters. Also intriguing is Infinity Wards decision to continue to work with Hollywood talent. This time, acclaimed director Stephen Gaghan has embedded himself in the games production. Story penned by Syriana's Gaghan & first plotlines revealed as Activision explains why Ghosts isn't Modern Warfare 4.
The Ghosts name had led to some confusion over where the game fits in the Call of Duty canon, with the title suggesting that players could see returning characters from Modern Warfare 2, including fan-favourite balaclava-wearing squad mate 'Ghost'.
But Activision's VP of Production Daniel Suarez suggests that won't be on the cards:
